The backyard’s tranquility is achieved through simple wall segments and a combination of low and high roof elements. These design choices establish a balanced spatial composition that creates a sense of calm and enclosure.
White plaster walls subtly define the interior spaces while maintaining openness, and the ceilings, made of white oak wood planks, create a warm, organic connection to the outdoors. This material palette echoes the natural canopy of the existing specimen tree, reinforcing a relationship with nature.
Large glazed openings allow the interior spaces to merge with the surrounding garden. This integration makes the outdoor environment an extension of the living space, enhancing the overall experience of the retreat.
